DAN GITTENS IS HAT TRICK HERO FOR BEWDLEY
Bewdley Town......5
Bromyard Town.....2
West Midlands Premier League

10th December2011

Bewdley began this match in dominant form with Dan Gittens opening the scoring with a long range shot.  The second goal was scored by Chris Hough following a pass from Ollie Smith.

Bewdley’s desire to attack was punished when Bromyard exploited a gap in the Bewdley defence and pulled a goal back before half time.

Bewdley started the second half with all guns blazing and it saw Dan Gittens score two more more to complete his hat trick and prompt Darren Steadman to run from his goal to the half way line line to congratulate him.....which was a bit of a worry because nobody was sure he would be able to make it back again!

Ollie Smith added a fifth from close range.  Credit to Bromyard they kept battling and pulled another goal back.

The second half saw chances at both ends and the final score could easily have been 10-5.

Despite scoring five goals and Dan Gittens scoring a hat trick the undoubted highlight of the game was Sam ‘Spider’ Watkins bicycle kick which left players and supporters alike speechless.

A goal in the first half followed by two more in the second completed a hat trick for Dan Gittens, as he helped Bewdley gain a comprehensive victory over Bromyard Town.

BEWDLEY MAKE WINNING START TO NEW YEAR
Cradley Town......0
Bewdley Town.....2
Bewdley made a winning start to the season with two first half goals. The only disappointment was that the score did not reflect Bewdley’s dominance of this match.
For the first ten minutes of this game Bewdley looked like all the rain had left them a bit rusty, it soon wore off and Bewdley went onto dominate this match.
The Bewdley midfield fought for every ball and Ollie Smith in attack never stopped running causing the Cradley defence all sorts of problems.
It was Ollie Smith who opened the scoring in the first half.  A period of intense Bewdley pressure led to a goal mouth scramble with Smith putting the ball in the net.
The second goal was from the penalty spot. Smith was fouled in the box, Craig Webb stepped up to take the spot kick, putting the ball in the top corner of the net.
Bewdley could have doubled the score in the first ten minutes of the second half with Dan Gittens and Richard Burgess putting their shots high over the bar with the goal at the mercy.
Bewdley continued to dominate with Sean Wright having a couple of chances, Dan Gittens sent a blistering shot just over the bar and Ollie Smith hit the post.
Bewdley always seem to manage one defensive wobble and it came in the last ten minutes when Darren Steadman who had been a spectator for most of the match had to pull off a smart save
