Town do the double over Severn Valley neighbours in 9 goal thriller
Town travelled up the Severn Valley looking to continue their good form and complete a double over their neighbours. On a pitch that closely resembled a parks pitch with long grass, good flowing football was going to be pretty rare but the game turned out to be exciting for the neutral.
The game began with both sides looking to carve out an opening and it was Town who drew 1st blood in the 10th minute, Rudd played a great ball forward to Pountney who out muscled Whitney then beat Crook from 10 yards. 10 minutes later with Town having numerous attempts to win and clear the ball the home side levelled, Griffiths won the ball and played it out to Olugbon, he beat Stubbins and sent over a cross which Griffiths headed in past Steadman. In the 27th minute the home side should have taken the lead, a clearance by Dunne was flicked on by Griffiths to Olugbon who beat Stubbins for pace, but he put the ball wide of the target with just Steadman to beat. Town restored their lead in the 31st minute, a throw by Stubbins was flicked on by Wellings to Pountney he turned and left the bewildered Dunne standing before firing the ball high into the net past Crook. 8 minutes later and the scores were level, a clearance by Crook went over Ward and Parmenter and Griffiths, looking very much offside, raced through before lifting the ball over Steadman into the net. A minute later, with the home crowd still celebrating, Town were back in front, Rudd played the ball down the line to Martin, he turned his marker, Becker and sent a low cross which Pountney volleyed in for his and Town's 3rd.

The 2nd half began with the home side pushing forward in search of an equaliser which they did thanks again to some calamity defending. With Town having a number of opportunities to clear the ball, they continued to pass it around and lost it to Olugbon, he sent it to Griffiths who then sent over a low cross which Pike stabbed in from close range for 3-3. Town regained the lead in the 55th minute, a Parmenter ball out of defence found Pountney, he played it through to Seekings who outpaced Becker, he then sent a cross which Pountney converted from close range for his 17th league goal of the season. The topsy turvey game then saw the 8th goal in the 64th minute and another hat trick goal, a long ball by Crook saw Griffiths beat off the attention of Ward then lift the ball over Steadman to bring the scores level at 4-4. Town made 2 changes, the 1st in the 67th minute with Stubbins replacing Cory-Jay Rudd, the 2nd with Prescot replacing Ward. The winning goal came in the 71st minute a clearance from Prescot was controlled by Pountney, he played a through ball to Seekings who raced on round Crook and rolled the ball into the empty net.
