Town returned to league action, looking to improve their league position with a victory over Willenhall Town.
Town began the game well and had the better of the early exchanges, they should have taken the lead with good chances falling to Seekings, Stubbins and Costello but very nearly fell behind on 15 minutes when following a cross by Birch, Habbershaw some how managed to put the ball over the bar from 2 yards out.

The 1st goal of the game went to the home side, a cross from Wellings was cleared but won back by Seekings, he sent over a dangerous cross that Martin rose well to head the ball into the net. Town were forced to make their 1st change of the game with Lester replacing Wellings on 40 minutes. 2 minutes later the visitors levelled, with Town's defence appealing for offside, Birch continued on to a through ball from Perks, he slid the ball under the advancing Steadman for 1-1.

The second half began with Town attacking right from the restart and very nearly retook the lead, Stubbins sent the ball out to Seekings, he beat Pinnock then sent over a cross which Radford misjudged but the ball hit the top of the bar. The 55th minute saw Town go in front, a Seekings free kick was headed in by Pountney for 2-1.

The visitors should have drawn level in the 70th minute, a free kick was awarded against Pountney, Ellis took it quick to Birch who then sent in a low cross that eluded everyone in the danger area, Rudd attempted to clear the loose ball but it hit Causer and bounced out for a goal kick. 2 minutes later and Town increased their lead, a quick throw from Hyde found Seekings, he had 2 attempts at a cross which eventually found it's way through to Pountney who made no mistake from close range.
