Again a wonderful effort from the Bewdley boys & girl!!! resulted in a great advert for kids Futsal. With a late withdrawal from the West squad, Ella stepped up to help us out scoring many fab goals in the process- well done & thanks Ella. West started again very slowly but credit must go to Halesowen who worked very hard & thoroughly deserved their win. From then on West started to play some excellent Futsal accumulating in a superb performance against West Hagley. A special mention for Jack who made his first appearance in goal for us. Having played no competitive football he was simply fab pulling off many great saves but above all his distribution was excellent. East again started off slowly but like West turned things round in their next 3 matches. With Ilija improving every game, Henry pulling off some superb saves and with the workrate of Oli G and Alfie as well as the scoring exploits of Jacob the team gave their all. Manager Matt described Alfie as 'unplayable' in a couple of the games - well done Alf keep up the good work!

BEWDLEY TOWN UNDER 9 FUTSAL.
FUTSAL ROUND ROBIN 29th January 2012
Teams: Bewdley Town West- Bewdley Town East-Santiago Knights U10- West Hagley U10 and Halesowen Town FC
A brilliant afternoons Futsal, played again in a great fun atmosphere was thoroughly enjoyed be all the kids taking part. West started off again a bit slowly in the first couple of matches then burst into life against West Hagley with what was possibly the best Futsal they have played against a very good team. Some of the goals that they scored were simply fabulous - great quick passing moves resulting in some excellent finishing. You have set the performance bar now boys!!! Special mention to Joe, Alfie & Alex who throughout the 4 matches were simply awesome. East again played some great stuff and especially in the last match V Halesowen Town scored some wonderful individual goals. Oli G's thunderbolt and Harry's dipping volley were finishes of the highest quality. A special mention to Ilija who made his 'debut' for us and played very well. Well done the the East boys keep up the good work!

Futsal Brasillia U10's Futsal Festival 18th February 2012
Teams: Bewdley Town West- Bewdley Town East- Futsal Brasillia - Harborne Hawks
Our second attempt at entering the Futsal Brasillia festival was certainly a learning curve for the boys. Up against a school team in Harborne Hawks - all of whom were U10 and selected from teams out of the Premier League of the Central Warwicks - and also some of the most gifted footballers I have seen from Futsal Brasillia both Bewdley Teams knew they were in a match from the first whistle! What couldn't be faulted was the sheer effort & commitment the Bewdley lads showed and how they continued to play a passing game throughout their 3 matches. In patches we again played some wonderful stuff which was applauded by all there - which is a credit to all the lads involved. The biggest lesson the boys told me they learned from the festival and playing against older elite players was how they had to be quicker with their decisions in order to try & compete - invaluable! Well done to everyone -but special mentions must go out to Jack who was simply awesome in goal and Ilija who kept things nice and simple in the pivot role & tackled relentlessly.
